Why ban wave has so small amount of banned players?
Consider all data as relative. If there is ban wave showing, for example, 100 players, it doesn't mean there are no more bans. Ban waves show that amount of banned players is X times higher than usual. In reality, there are many more bans because our sample of users is limited.
Can I add matches to this statistic?
Yes. You can navigate to player's stats page, log in and open Matches tab. There you can add matches.
How VAC ban differs from Game ban?
VAC ban is an automated ban granted by VAC system. Game ban usually granted by Overwatch system where other players decide themselves if suspect player is cheating or griefing. Game ban can be granted for cheating and/or for inappropriate behavior such as griefing.
Can VAC or Game ban be lifted/removed?
VAC bans are permanent, non-negotiable, and cannot be removed by Steam Support. If a VAC ban is determined to have been issued incorrectly it will automatically be removed. More about VAC bans on official steam support page here.
Game ban suspects who are convicted of griefing are given a moderate cooldown, whereas cheaters are removed from the game entirely. More about Overwatch and Game bans on official CS blog page here
Does this statistic only apply to CS2/CS:GO?
We can't guarantee that all bans are related to CS2/CS:GO, because Steam API doesn't provide such information. But we track only those players who have played at least one official match in these games, which allows us to reduce the number of bans we receive from other games.
